Mind you, last week we were enjoying perfectly breezy 70 degree weather. Texas has the most bipolar weather.
Yesterday as I trekked across campus bracing myself against the frigid wind, I passed by our large fountain in front of the University Tower which usually looks something like this:
Instead, it was a little like this:
And a little like this too:
Is that not amazing? The ice was beautiful. I couldn't not stop to take pictures.
But that wasn't the best part. Oh no, not at all. Today I woke up to classes being cancelled due to snow. Snow!? It's been years since I've seen snow.
I don't know when it started, or when it stopped, but I can tell you that I was as giddy and excited as a child that has never seen snow before. So, there was only one thing to do.

Make a snowman of course! Miniature snowman, that is. I mean we're in Texas after all. You actually think we get enough snow to make a life size snowman? You're nuts.
Okay maybe I was wrong.
Shortly after I found what I call the Leaning UT Tower of Austin. This thing was taller than me. By almost a foot. And I'm not that short. Not that tall either, but still.
It was made by the Engineering and CS students, which is what the protruding sign says. I was impressed.
Although the snow will be melted by the end of the day, it's short presence has been one hundred percent worth it.
Little fact about me - I was born in Ohio. I miss snow terribly.
P.S. It's already 40 degrees. Opposed to the low 20s yesterday.
Oh Texas, I will never understand thee.
